The Empire of Yanneros is largest and greatest of the eastern domains as well as the longest lasting empire. Founded by a charismatic man named Yan, who led his tribe out of the Cradlelands, and dared to go where no human had gone before. He was a caring leader and a courageous warrior. He bested a great Leviathan single-handedly, cementing his status as a legendary hero. The bones of the beast would go on to become part of his palace, the center of the capital Farya, named after Yan's wife and lover.
Yanneros would carve a domain that stretched from the northern forests to the foothills of the south and from ocean to ocean. The distance between cities was so vast that many people adopted a nomadic life style instead. This would go on to define the Empire with the two types of citizens, sometimes clashing over these differences. Yanneros benefited from trade as one of the largest rivers in the world travels through the heart of the Empire, providing the easiest means to bring goods from the Inner Ocean to the Outer Ocean and vice versa.
Yanneros also frequently dealt with Maelim and harpy attacks, for such a large domain was a prime target for discord and plunder. It was during the largest of these attacks that things went from bad to worse. Like many domains, it was attacked by daemons during the dreaded Daemon Wars. These monsters were lead by the Daemon Lord Pazuzu, a four winged nightmare as old as he was powerful. With Yanneros already weakened, he assumed the Empire was easy prey.
But instead, he gave all three races common ground and together, the Empire, Maelim and harpies beat back the daemons. Out of respect and honor, the Maelim and harpies willingly broke their siege and left the Empire in peace, for now anyway. Yet the damage was done, the Emperor had died in the fighting and his three children quarreled over who would be next in line.
